Has led secure communications and technical security projects supporting governments, UN missions, NGOs, and high-value commercial operations. Leads CUSP’s global strategy, integrating secure communications, counter-surveillance, protected mobile systems, and crisis information resilience to keep people connected and operations protected wherever they operate.

Regional Director, Southern Africa
Ex-Special Forces Signaller and senior comms planner with 30+ years’ experience in conflict zones including Iraq, Libya, and Somalia. Formerly with UK FCO, UNOPS, and Control Risks, managing missioncritical communications. Leads Cusp’s Southern Africa operations with field-tested, interoperable solutions.
Cassandra Nelson
Regional Director, USA
Strategic communications leader with 20+ years’ experience in hostile environments, including Somalia, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Ukraine. Former UN Chief of Strategic Comms in Somalia, overseeing a $10M portfolio and 70-person team. Leads Cusp USA, developing outreach, emergency comms, and resilience frameworks nationwide.
